Tornado Magnets

And another thing: I read today that a lot of people who live in the 'bible belt' are really pissed that Halloween is on Sunday this year.

NEWNAN, Ga. (AP) - Across the Bible Belt this Halloween, some little ghosts and goblins might get shooed away by the neighbors - and some youngsters will not be allowed to go trick-or-treating at all - because the holiday falls on a Sunday this year.
``It's a day for the good Lord, not for the devil,'' said Barbara Braswell, who plans to send her 4-year-old granddaughter Maliyah out trick-or-treating in a princess costume on Saturday instead.
Some towns around the country are decreeing that Halloween be celebrated on Saturday to avoid complaints from those who might be offended by the sight of demons and witches ringing their doorbell on the Sabbath. Others insist the holiday should be celebrated on Oct. 31 no matter what. blah blah blah blah.

I love this. Only a Bible Thumper would take halloween that seriously. I remember I had some employees when I was a supervisor who do not celebrate Halloween at all because it 'glorifies the devil'. I wonder if these people still think that monsters live under their beds? These are the same people who think whenever a tornado comes in and destroys their trailer park, its because someone next door forgot to pray last week. Yeah, like the fact that you live on a completely flat piece of land which allows for a dense stratification of air pressure has NOTHING to do with it. How are meteorolgists able to predict when God's wrath is going to demolish a White Trash cesspool? "And now Tray Brackish with the weather."
"Thanks, Donald. Tray Brackish, here. Billy-Joe Talbot forgot to pray last week after beating his wife Rita, so we predict that conditions are ripe this afternoon for some serious Retribution. Remember, if you find yourself in the path of God's Fury, make sure you stay as low to the ground as possible- preferably in a drainage ditch, since none of you have basements built into your house on wheels."
