I just read yet another �best of �04� list that mentions how great everyone thinks the movie Garden State is... BULLSHIT! That movie was a piece of shit cop-out. Granted, I rented it a while ago after I�d heard all of these great things about it, but I�m sorry- it sucked donkey dicks. First of all, why in the hell would anyone willingly get into a relationship with a compulsive liar? I don�t care if they do look like Natalie Portman, that is just stupid. �Oh, I�ll just choose to trust you.� OK buddy, its your funeral. One of the only mildly amusing parts I found in the whole film was how his friend�s mom was dating an old classmate of theirs. Some of those scenes were funny, but you know what? American Pie of all movies already delved into that comedic premise. No points for originality Mr. Braff. All of the scenes that were suppose to be deep and philosophical were trite, forced and completely unrealistic. It is so painfully obvious that theses aren�t really people you�re watching on screen- they�re bad caricatures of people who go out of their way to seem more deep and involving than they can ever hope to be- even on screen. The dialog was stupid, the acting was worse, and the plot was something straight out of an afterschool special. Not one person in that movie had a redeeming quality to them at all. I mean for Christ sake! At LEAST be funny! I take that back- another scene I did really laugh at was when he went in for the MRI and you see where his friends had written all over his body after he passed out the night before. But other than that, totally humorless, totally meaningless, totally horrid movie. I know the ending was supposed to be all deep and shit, but it wasn�t. It was sophomoric. I would expect stupid euphemisms like that from a freshman English class. I hard to turn it off when he came running back into the airport to tell the lying bitch he wanted to be with her. To quote a much funnier, wittier movie, Get Shorty, �I�ve seen better film on teeth.�
