Ambien

This is something that has been bothering me for quite some time. Pharmaceutical companies. Unlike President Bush, I dont like to throw around the word evil in describing something, but drug companies I think come close to earning that adjective. The morally bankrupt people who run these corporations need to be drawn and quartered. They charge astronomical prices for their drugs, then use that money to buy off our government into letting them get away with murder. What really spurned this entry was seeing a commercial for AmbienCR on TV the other day. Im sure a lot of you have seen the adds, or are at least familiar with the drug. According to the add, it helps you sleep. Great- I think thats a good thing. Having trouble sleeping? Pop one of these things, and youll be sawing logs for eight hours. I am a big advocate of drugs- be they prescription or recreational- or both. Now, here is where my jaw just dropped: Right there in the add, they say that prolonged use may cause addiction, and then offer to send you a free seven day trial of the shit. Here! Have some free drugs to get yourself hooked! I remember having police officers come to my school when I was younger and telling all of us how drug dealers would offer kids their first joint, hit, or line for free to get them hooked, so what does that say about Merck and Pfizer? This government ties up billions of dollars on the so-called war on drugs, and then turn around and let drug companies advertise on TV. Heroine is a terrible terrible drug that you should never ever use, so instead, just get yourself a prescription for OxyContin, its basically the same thing, and its legal! These drug companies are turning doctors into modern day pushers. It used to be that if you had a problem, youd go and see your doctor, theyd look you over, and prescribe the necessary medication. Now, you see the add on TV, go and see your doctor and tell them youre suffering from this or that, and that you need a prescription of whatever. My point is, people are self diagnosing after seeing these adds- or worse yet, the drug companies are offering free samples so you can learn first hand how great they make you feel and then run to your doctor to get a prescription for more. There is a reason these drugs are prescription only- but the government seems to have conveniently forgotten that. I guess theyve been distracted by the wads of money being shoved into their pockets by the drug companies. Hell, you dont even need to see a doctor half the time! Go online and fill out a simple medical questionnaire. Simply lie about your weight, and theyll send you a prescription for Phentermine to help you lose weight. And oh yeah- Phentermine is basically speed, by the way. This country is becoming so obsessed with medicating itself its getting scary. Do you think most of the prescriptions of Viagra being filled are for people who genuinely cant get it up, or are they for guys who just want to have a rock hard cock for three straight hours? Ask yourself how it is possible for a Walgreens, a CVS and a Rite-Aid to all be doing brisk business on the same city block?
