Jeff, OH MY...two entries in TWO days. Careful or you may spoil us. As for bottled water, growing up in a relatively small town in WA we always had great water. Hell, my grandparents have a well where they live and their water is better than any you could buy in a bottle. But, once I moved to CA...I spent whatever I had to to have water I could drink. Have you TASTED CA water? Even when filtered it had a nasty after taste. Hard to swallow that. Being back home that's one of the things I really enjoy...going to the tap and filling a cup of water that I can actually drink. It took me two or three weeks once I got home to realize I could do that again.

The water in my neighborhood is pretty hard as well, which is why I just buy a replaceable water filter every couple of months.

I am a huge bottled water person... In times of desperation I will drink from a drinking fountain at the park or something but I keep bottled water at home and don't drink from the tap. As stated before me the water in Cali is nasty. I do not buy expensive bottles i have no money for that. But Auqafina is my water of choice it's bottled by pepsi. I don't know where it comes from and i don't care. I strictly like the way it tastes.

Aquafina- doesn't that sound a lot like "The end of Water as we know it" ?

Sorry - I'm with everyone else. I always keep bottled water in the fridge. There is no way I'm going to drink tap water...unless it's filtered, then filtered again and then filtered one more time to make sure it's ok - lol.
